Competitors Become Partners to Increase Traffic

While the number of individuals browsing the Internet for entertainment increases, many sites continue to struggle with traffic generation.

Although a site may be a major competitor against similar brick and mortar enterprises, they have to work to create traffic to their Internet services. To avoid the struggle that comes along with generating viewers, SI.com and NBCsports.com have decided to partner to assist each other in this enormous task.

According to MediaPost, they have joined together for a "cross-promotional deal to expose one another’s audience to the other". Each site will feature segments from the other, enabling viewers to catch a glimpse of what both sites have to offer. In addition to displaying the broadband segments on their sites, each company will direct viewers to the other's major features.

This new partnering will lead to, not only increased lead generation, but also better qualified leads. Both brands can obtain needed exposure and each has found a way to narrow their advertising to the specific market that is sure to be interested in what they have to offer.
